Go Blue on World Children’s Day – November 20

UNICEF and friends turn the world blue today to draw attention to grim issues concerning children around the world: 262 million children and youth are out of school, 650 million girls and women were married before their 18th birthday, 5.4 million children died from mostly preventable causes before their fifth birthday.

UNICEF suggests the following ideas to create a sea of blue to show our support for children everywhere:

  • Wear blue clothes (t-shirts, hats ties, scarfs, bandanas, etc.)
  • Turn your light bulbs or your set/backdrop blue
  • Turn logos, emblems, text and other communications blue
  • Encourage anyone watching/listening/reading to G0 Blue
  • Be creative!

Refugee and migrant children are among most vulnerable of all children. Around the world, nearly 50 million children have become refugees or migrants after fleeing their homes to escape conflicts and natural disasters – others have migrated in the hope to find a better life. You can help children in crisis through UNICEF.

You can play an important role by signing this petition to put children back on the agenda. https://www.unicef.org/world-childrens-day Your signature will be handed over to world leaders on 20 November 2019 – the 30th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child – calling on them to commit to fulfilling the rights of every child now or for future generations.

It takes less than a minute to sign this E-petition and you will feel proud of yourself for having added your voice to this burning issue of supporting children worldwide. You are also encouraged to share your personalised message that you will receive upon submitting this petition via various social media channels. Children around the world will thank you silently for thinking about them and advocating their cause. By spending less than a minute of your time, you will become an ardent child supporter!
